मांगो मत, ऊपर वाले को अपने हिसाब से देने दो
एक राजा,अक्सर गांव-गांव जाकर प्रजा और लोगों की समस्याओं को सुनता था और उनमें सुधार की पूरी कोशिश करता था। उसकी कर्तव्यनिष्ठा के चर्चे दूर देशों तक फैले हुए थे। एक बार राजा प्रजा की समस्याओं को जानने निकले थे। उसी दौरान राजा के कुर्ते का एक बटन टूट गया। राजा ने मंत्री को आदेश दिया,गांव से ही किसी अच्छे दर्जी को बुला लाओ। पूरे गांव में अच्छे दर्जी की खोज शुरू हो गई। संयोग से उस गांव में एक ही दर्जी था जिसकी गांव में छोटी सी दुकान थी। दर्जी को राजा के पास लाया गया।
राजा के कहा- मेरे कुर्ते का बटन लगा सकते हो?
दर्जी के कहा- जी हुजूर, ये कौन सा मुश्किल काम है? दर्जी ने तुरंत अपने थैले से धागा निकाला और राजा के कुर्ते का बटन लगा दिया।
राजा ने खुश होकर दर्जी से कहा, तुम्हें इस काम के कितने पैसे दूं?
दर्जी ने कहा- महाराज ये तो बहुत ही छोटा सा काम था, इसके मैं आपसे पैसे नहीं ले सकता।
राजा ने कहा-मांगो तो सही, हम तुम्हें इस काम की कीमत जरूर देंगे।
दर्जी ने सोचा कि बटन तो राजा के पास था ही, मैंने तो बस धागा लगाया है, मैं राजा से इस काम के 2 रुपए मांग लेता हूं। पर दर्जी ने सोचा कि मैं राजा से अगर 2 रुपए मांगूंगा तो राजा सोचेगा कि इतने से काम के इतने सारे पैसे मांग रहा है,मेरे से 2 रुपए ले रहा है तो गांव वालों से कितना लेता होगा? यही सोचकर दर्जी ने कहा- महाराज आप अपनी स्वेच्छा से कुछ भी दे दें।
अब राजा को भी अपनी हैसियत के हिसाब से देना था ताकि समाज में उसका रुतबा छोटा न हो जाए, यही सोचकर राजा ने दर्जी को 2 गांव देने का आदेश दे दिया। अब दर्जी मन में सोचने लगा कि कहां तो मैं 2 रुपए मांगने की सोच रहा था और कहां तो राजा ने 2 गांवों का मालिक मुझे बना दिया।

The tailor thought that the king already had the button, I have just attached the thread, I will ask the king for 2 rupees for this work. But the tailor thought that if I ask for 2 rupees from the king, then the king will think that he is asking for so much money for so much work, if he is taking 2 rupees from me, then how much would he be taking from the villagers? Now the tailor started thinking in his mind that I was thinking of asking for 2 rupees and the king had made me the owner of 2 villages. |
