उत्तर:- मन आत्मा और जड़ तत्व के बीच सम्बन्ध जोड़ने वाली एक कड़ी है। आत्मा चेतन है और मन जड़ है। आत्मा से शक्ति प्राप्त कर यह कार्य करता है। मन बाधा डालने वाली शक्ति है। जीवात्मा दोनों आंखों के मध्य भाग में बैठी है और इसके चारों तरफ मन, बुद्धि, चित्त और अहंकार बैठे हुए हैं। जब मन की प्रवृत्ति बहिर्मुखी होती है तब यह जड़ जगत से जुड़ा रहता है और जब यह भीतर की ओर देखता है तब यह जड़ जगत से अलग हो जाता है।
जीवात्मा का साथ जब यह देने लगता है तब वह होश में आती है। आत्मा की प्रवृत्ति सदा अन्तर सुखी होती है क्योंकि यह ऊपर से लाकर दोनों आंखों के बीच में बैठा दी गई है। जड़ जगत से मन का सम्बन्ध जितना ही ढीला पड़ता है आत्मा से इसका सम्बन्ध उतना ही मजबूत हो जाता है। मन का भी स्वरूप है जिसे साधक देखते हैं । आत्मा जिन-जिन शारीरों में जाती है मन हर जगह उसके साथ रहता है। सारा संसार यानी मनुष्य, पशु-पक्षी, कीड़े मकोड़े सभी मन के इशारे पर नाच रहे हैं।
इसके झकोलों से सब जीवन परेशान हैं। बस एक ही स्थान है जहां मन खुद नाचने लगता है और वह स्थान तब मिलता है जब मन शब्द-धुन (आकशवाणी, नाम, कलमा, अनहद बाजे) के सामने लाया जाता है। शब्द-धुन वो सुरीली आवाज है जिसे सुनकर वह अपनी भागदोड़ बन्द कर देता है।
शब्द-धुन अथवा नाम से अमृत चूता है और चुम्बक की तरह से वह मन को खींच लेती है। यहां पर मन हार जाता है और उसका कोई वश नहीं चलता। मन को ग्रन्थों के पढ़ने-पढ़ाने से या हठ कर्म करने से वश में नहीं लाया जा सकता। जिसने भी मन को वश में किया है, केवल शब्द अथवा नाम या संगीत के द्वारा ही किया है।

Answer:- Mind is a link connecting between soul and matter. Soul is conscious and mind is inanimate. It works by getting power from the soul. Mind is a hindering force. The soul is sitting in the middle part of both the eyes and the mind, intellect, chitta and ego are sitting around it. When the tendency of the mind is outward then it remains connected to the material world and when it looks inward then it becomes separated from the material world.
When it starts supporting the soul then it comes to its senses. The nature of the soul is always inner happiness because it has been brought from above and is seated between the two eyes. The more the mind's connection with the material world becomes loose, the stronger its connection with the soul becomes. There is also a form of mind which is seen by the seekers. The mind remains with the soul everywhere in whatever body it enters. The whole world i.e. humans, animals, birds, insects are all dancing at the behest of the mind.
All life is troubled by its disturbances. There is only one place where the mind itself starts dancing and that place is found when the mind is brought before the sound-tune (Aakashvani, Naam, Kalma, Anhad Baje). Shabd-Dhun is that melodious sound on hearing which he stops his running.
The nectar of words, tune or name attracts the mind like a magnet. Here the mind gets defeated and has no control over it. The mind cannot be controlled by reading and teaching scriptures or by performing stubborn acts. Whoever has controlled the mind has done so only through words or name or music. |
