उत्तर - जब जीवात्मा पानी रुह शरीर में सिमटती है तो रुह के साथ प्राण भी सिमटते है । रुह का भास सिमटकर आकाश में जाता है, त्राण उसके साथ जाते हैं। उस समय कुछ भी याद नहीं रहता । जब आत्मा शरीर से निकलकर आकाश में जाती है तो काल उस रुह की सारी जिन्दगी के कर्मों के मु्ताबिक उस पर बुद्धि छोड़ देता है और बुद्धि में सारी उम्र के कर्मों के मुताबिक इच्छा पैदा होती है । बच्चों में स्त्री में जानवरों में धन संपत्ति में जहाँ कहीं भी इच्छा जाएगी उसी के मुताबिक संसार में वापस जाने का ख्याल आएगा । मगर रास्ता नहीं मालूम । उस वक्त यमदूत आवाज देते हैं कि इधर आ जा, रास्ता इधर है ।
यमदूतों की आवाज किसी जाने पहचाने की सी आवाज प्रतीत होती है जो कि मृत्यु की ओर खींचती है । आवाज आती है कि मेरी ओर आओ | मैं वही हूँ जिसकी तुम्हें तलाश है । जब वह उस आवाज के पीछे जाता है तो काल उधर अपने मुँह खोले बैठा होता है | रुह उसके मुंह में जाकर चबाई जाती है । उस समय आखों से पानी निकलता है या डर के मारे टट्टी हो जाती है । इसके बाद फरिश्ते उसे इन्साफ के लिए पेश करते हैं और यमराज कर्मों के अनुसार सजा देते हैं, गेकों चौरासी में डाल देते हैं ।
